The first ever Triple Eight Race Engineering built Commodore broke cover yesterday with TeamVodafone driver, Jamie Whincup completing a shakedown in the car at Queensland Raceway.
Dual V8 Supercar champion, Whincup carried out a handful of laps in the VE Commodore which was covered in stickers to disguise TeamVodafone’s 2010 livery. The public will get the chance to ride in the same car next year when it becomes the team’s ride car.
Whincup said it felt good to finally get behind the wheel of the Commodore after the team first made the announcement of their switch to Holden in July.
Whincup wrapped up his second V8 Supercar title earlier in the month. The 2010 V8 Supercar Series gets underway in February.
